Piano For Kids & Teens

Our Piano for Kids & Teens program comprises a traditional piano curriculum for students ages 7 and up. What makes our program different than just taking regular piano lessons is that the instructors know how to handle the unique needs of students who start at a later age.

All of our teachers have years to decades of teaching students in the age range of 7-18 and are able to formulate a curriculum that meets the needs, interests and seriousness of the student. Student selected repertoire is common for students past the elementary stage.

The curriculum is generally based on the Piano Adventures® series, or Accelerated Piano Adventures® (for older beginners), though other methods may be used, including Bastien, Suzuki, Thompson and others.

All of our teachers are carefully selected and screened with proven long-term track records of parent and student satisfaction, student proficiency in playing, recital performances, exams and academic excellence. Alumni of PINW have gone on to pursue music performance, and composition degrees at the Juiliard School, Purchase College, Peabody Conservatory, Oberlin and many more.

In addition, students in our programs have participated and earned high honors in such competitions as Cliburn Youth Piano Competition, Venice Piano Cometition, Dinu Lipatti Piano Competition, Milano International Piano Competition, Vienna Piano Competition, Malta Music Competition, New York International Youth Piano Competition and many others.

Our core program includes

  • Weekly Lessons at your home or in a studio
  • 2-3 Recitals Per Year
  • Auditions and Competitions as appropriate (by age, experience and interest)

Our teachers are all top prize-winning performers, as well as dedicated educators with Masters Degrees up through Doctorates/Ph.D.

Our Teachers

We take great care and effort to match every student and family to the right teacher through interviews, consultations and trial lessons. All instructors are experienced, qualified pianists who will make sure that your child has fun, and most importantly learns the right way, avoiding bad habits that inevitably become road blocks to progress and enjoyment.
